As the popularity of the Temecula Valley’s winemaking surged and its wines garnered local and national attention, Palumbo Family Vineyards and Winery needed to refine its identity and branding.
This mom-and-pop business was ready to grow, but lacked the tools and resources to take itself to the next level. Its primary objectives in hiring LiFT creative studios were to retain its authenticity, gain increased respect in the wine world, increase revenues and create a more polished and professional image.
LiFT creative studios needed to understand both the winery and its competition, so this partnership started with an analysis and fact-finding phase, during which the team visited and studied neighboring wineries and worked closely with principal winemaker, Nicholas Palumbo, to learn about his vineyard, winemaking philosophy and customers.
Next, LiFT captured the beauty and essence of the property and its day-to-day operations through a series of photo shoots. The photography took center stage in LiFT’s new brochures and print advertisements, in Palumbo’s Tasting Room, and on its redesigned website.
The winery’s new website wasn’t just a photo gallery, however. In response to the client’s key needs, LiFT incorporated a robust back end with e-commerce capabilities, an event booking calendar, a member log-in area, and turnkey reporting.
Meanwhile, LiFT introduced a new design and color scheme to the winery’s tasting room, making it more inviting while retaining its “farm charm”, increasing the merchandising of wine and taking advantage of its patio space and picturesque views.
To create awareness and customer loyalty, LiFT conducted targeted PR campaigns to promote tours, tastings, wine club pick-up parties, and private events. Additionally, LiFT broadcast news of Palumbo’s winemaking achievements to its peers, building its industry reputation.
Winemaker Nick Palumbo couldn’t have been more pleased with the complete rebranding and repositioning that LiFT creative studios achieved. It realized and exceeded his vision.
LiFT’s extensive in-house capabilities, from photography to print design and copywriting to e-commerce, ensured that every phase of the work was produced on time and under budget.
Media representatives and industry professionals gave high praise to the winery’s new marketing approach and its website traffic increased 50% in the first three months after relaunch. E-commerce became a steady 25% of the winery’s total sales.
In the Tasting Room, retail sales increased significantly and thanks to its revamped image, quality wines and beautiful location, the winery is a fixture of wine tours in the Temecula Valley.
